Success Story: Unleashing the Power of Women in Energy: A B.Grimm Power Success

Published onFebruary 28, 2020

Throughout Southeast Asia, roles in the renewable energy industry remain occupied mostly by men, limiting the empowerment of women in governance and technical roles, and the value women’s participation brings to businesses and civil democracy. As a trusted advisor to governments, USAID Clean Power Asia is positioned to support women’s empowerment and recognition in the sustainable energy space to help face this challenge.

With support from the USAID Clean Power Asia program, B.Grimm Power successfully launched a 257 MW solar farm project in Vietnam. USAID helped explore a number of financing options and identified a financing structure to support the development of the solar project with B.Grimm Power’s local partner, TTVN Group, which reached financial closure and a commercial operation date in June 2019.

B.Grimm Power is a key partner in helping achieve USAID’s energy sector work in Southeast Asia and advancing the U.S. Government’s Asia EDGE initiative that aims to support sustainable and secure energy markets across the Indo-Pacific region and level the playing field for private sector firms.
