Published onJanuary 28, 2021

USAID Clean Power Asia RE policy staff supported the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory to publish this report, Key Considerations for Adoption of Technical Codes and Standards for Battery Energy Storage Systems in Thailand. The report provides useful global best practices of codes, standards, and interconnection procedures developed for deployment of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the context of Thailand. It also presents examples from Australia and the U.S. states of Arizona, California, and New York. Key considerations are intended for Thailand, but can also be utilized as a guide for other countries with an interest in developing technical codes and standards for deployment of BESS.
